Title: Corporate Controller – Merchant Services

Location: Dallas, TX

 

Overview:

Our Client, an organization of Merchant Services experts who partner with merchants to ensure they receive the best and most reasonable card processing experience, is currently looking for a Corporate Controller to add to their leadership team. You’ll be responsible for timely and consistent internal accounting operations including but not limited to, revenue recognition, collections, accounts payable, payroll processing, intercompany accounting and consolidation, and the entire monthly close process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly/quarterly/year-end financial close and completion of monthly account analysis reconciliations, including preparation of trial balance, profit and loss statements, balance sheet, statement of cash flows and statements of shareholders’ equity.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures, including compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Responsible for ensuring generally acceptable accounting standards are appropriately applied, including adoption of new accounting rules when required.
  • Manage, operate, optimize, and maintain financial and accounting systems with a specific focus on automation.
  • Monthly reconciliation: cash, settlement activity, merchant reserves, etc.
  • Responsible for coordination and completion of annual financial audit and tax compliance (including income tax, franchise tax, payroll tax, property tax, etc.)
  • Manage the accounting and finance staff

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • CPA license required
  • 8+ years’ accounting experience, preferably a combination of public accounting and in-house experience. Expertise in or significant exposure to the following areas: Revenue Recognition, GAAP reporting, Consolidation/Intercompany Accounting (inter-organization).
  • Expertise in: Payment Processing, Merchant Processing, Issuing Bank, Revolving Credit is a plus.
  • Senior management experience including C-level interaction.
  • Prior success upgrading the quality of an organization’s accounting infrastructure through process and technology.
  • Proficient with ERP Systems (and ancillary finance systems), and experience with ERP and process re-engineering/implementations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable making decisions independently
  • Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Understanding of merchant level profit and loss
  • Knowledge of business analytics
  • Current knowledge of GAAP reporting requirements
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have advanced skills with Microsoft Excel. QuickBooks experience a plus.
