Overview:
Our client, a growing payments provider, is searching for an Inside Sales Manager to build and lead a team of driven sales representatives. The ideal Sales Manager has in-depth knowledge of and experience with the sales process; excels at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals. A quick learner who has strong negotiating skills is needed — someone with a track record of success who can inspire the same in others. The role demands a leader with a sharp mind and an ability to coach, advise, motivate, and replace sales representatives to build and maintain a high-performance team.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, motivate, and advise a team of high-performance sales representatives
- Generate leads and establish and nurture merchant relationships
- Achieve company objectives by planning effectively, setting sales goals, analyzing performance data, and projecting future performance
- Represent our company with a comprehensive understanding of its offerings
- Understand merchant needs and identify how our solutions address them
- Continuously develop leadership, hiring, and training skills while ensuring that the team is using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
- Create and execute a strategic sales plan that grows our customer base
- Generate leads and work to achieve CPA below a specified threshold
- Identify new major opportunities for partner growth in the marketplace
- Prospect and develop new client relationships in assigned markets
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and revise promotions and campaigns
- Travel to and act as company representative at trade shows and business meetings
- Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends as they relate to the industry and merchants
- Review and analyze sales and operational reports; use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify emerging markets to find new sales opportunities
- Provide feedback to management and develop ways to decrease the sales cycle, enhance sales, and improve company brand and reputation
- Identify and analyze merchant needs and preferences to properly direct sales efforts; identify and suggest equipment, products or services that will meet those needs
- Recruit salespeople, set objectives, train, coach, and monitor performance to ensure that assigned quotas, tasks and responsibilities are fulfilled
- Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop a plan to fill them
- Develop a strong opportunity pipeline and track leads within the approved CRM
- Resolve merchant complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Ensure that company quotas and standards are met by holding check-ins with the Sales Team to set objectives for the day and to monitor progress
- Establish, grow, and maintain long-lasting relationships with merchants by understanding their needs
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and be a responsible representative of the company and its brand
Requirements:
- Proven success rate with the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to hiring high-performance team to planning to closing in the payments industry
- Excellent motivational and interpersonal skills; positive and can-do attitude
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-moving, start-up environment
- Exceptional skill set for refining processes within the sales department
