Title: OpenShift Administrator /Developer – Aerospace & Defense
Location: Remote US or Canada
Overview:
We are currently searching for OpenShift Administrators for a Company who seeks to solve mission critical challenges in technology, processes, systems, and cultural transformation for their clients in the financial services, manufacturing, education, aerospace, and technology industries. They bring critical program acceleration to client initiatives while minimizing costs and risks with intellectual capital, technical and process frameworks, operating models, and software infrastructure.
This role is to work with one of their Aerospace and Defense clients as part of their Container Operations Support team, responsible for providing the container infrastructure built on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
Their Aerospace and Defense business covers large commercial transports, regional aircraft, business jets, helicopters, and general aviation. Its defense markets cover all military aircraft types, land systems, naval platforms and aerial, land-based and marine threat simulation training, and weapons systems development. The firearms element of this capability extends into law enforcement and security organizations.
Core Requirements:
- Strong experience with OpenShift administration in an HA multiple data-center environment
- Understanding of container storage backends such as NFS, vSphere, and PureStorage
- Experience in managing the container platform ecosystem through installation, upgrade, patching, and monitoring
- Strong networking experience
- Kubernetes administration experience
- Ability to create and implement DR and HA strategies
- Experience with EFK, Ansible, Postgres a plus but not all are strictly required
- Ability to create Kibana dashboards
- Ability to create Ansible playbooks / automate routine tasks
- Experience in project onboarding and troubleshooting critical issues, and coordinating with other teams to find the root causes
- Solid knowledge of OpenShift capacity & availability management
- Good understanding of Cloud Computing, and Infrastructure management
- Understanding of Red Hat Compliance Operator and CIS policies
- Understanding of backup and restore processes
- Ability to deploy Operators and applications
- Understanding of OCP upgrade processes
- Self-starter with the ability to help prioritize tasks and work them to closure with minimal assistance
- Excellent communication and customer-centric focus

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Certified Kubernetes Administrator preferred
- 5+ years in systems administration or DevOps with prior experience in OpenShift implementations
- Prior experience in leading a team – ideally in a consulting role
